McLaren 570GT by MSO Concept debuts in Pebble Beach
Showing the next possible iteration of the Sports Series coupe, the McLaren 570GT by MSO Concept will be shown on the 18th fairway at Pebble Beach during the annual Concours d’Elegance. This tasteful one-off previews upgrades McLaren's Special Operations group is preparing to offer prospective customers in the coming months.
Finished in Elite Pearl White, the modified 570GT features an MSO Piano Black trim package and full sill panels done up in gloss carbon fiber. Crowning it all is a new roof which replaces the car’s standard glass top panel with an electrochromic alternative featuring a touch-sensitive headliner that allows five different levels of darkening, from near-clear to almost black. The cabin of the 570GT by MSO Concept boasts a “By McLaren” upgrade of its own, highlighted by luxurious Saddle Tan leather upholstery matched with an MSO Defined Carbon Fiber Interior Pack in Gloss Lacquer. Rounding out the package is a 12-speaker Bowers & Wilkins Hi-Fi audio system.
No changes were made to the running gear of this high-profile 570GT, however the 3.8-liter M838TE twin-turbo V8 engine that makes 562 horsepower and 443 lb-ft of torque does feature a new MSO Exhaust system. Made from titanium and 30 percent lighter than the standard stainless-steel unit, it features heat shields with a golden-titanium-nitride tint that shifts its color to a blue-violet as the pipes get hotter. Backed by McLaren’s 7-speed, multi-mode SSG automatic transaxle that ships power to the rear wheels, the engine can send this carbon-fiber-intensive coupe from 0-62 mph in 3.4 seconds and onto a top end of 204 mph.
