2016 Lincoln MKT Buyer's Guide

Big Comfort

The Lincoln MKT is among the roomier options in the midsize luxury SUV segment, with one of the most livable third rows. While many in the class are sporty, and a couple are excellent off-roaders, the Lincoln MKT is focused on comfort as the SUV equivalent of a big, roomy, traditional luxury sedan. An available refrigerated console and optional second-row captain's chairs further cement the MKT's position as something closer to minivan than sports sedan. For 2016, the biggest news is that the MKT is available with Lincoln's all-new Sync 3 connectivity system.

Driving It

From our full review of the 2016 Lincoln MKT: "The 2016 Lincoln MKT is a lot of luxury-crossover SUV, but the 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged EcoBoost V6 is a lot of engine. It has no problem getting this big vehicle moving...quickly. Once on the highway, the MKT cruises at a relaxed pace, especially when equipped with the available adaptive cruise control."

The EcoBoost Option

Over the past couple of years, this engine has grabbed headlines, and for good reason. The EcoBoost engine, which is a turbocharged V6, provides the power of a V8 with the fuel economy of a V6. It does cost more than the non-turbo V6 that comes standard, partly because the EcoBoost is only offered with all-wheel drive. However, for those that want the extra power without a big penalty at the pump, it may be worth the added cost when buying an MKT.

Build and Price

The MKT starts at about $44,000, topping out at more than $58,000. Build and price your own 2016 Lincoln MKT to unlock its Kelley Blue Book Fair Purchase Price, 5-Year Cost to Own and more.

Consumer Reviews

KBB.com visitor and MKT owner Pablo has this to say about the Lincoln: "On ramp acceleration is like being in a jet fighter. Weather radar in my car? This has it. Heated and cooled seats, has it again, heated steering wheel, rain sensing wipers, power fold down middle row to allow access to the third row. Cool. The exterior styling wasn't a favorite, it was the interior that hooked me, though I have learned to love the exterior." Read more consumer reviews of the Lincoln MKT.
