While offering no additional specifics, this latest preview pic of the Lexus Concept that will appear in Detroit reportedly "hints at the new contemporary, upscale and uniquely Lexus design direction" we can expect to see in its future product offerings. Based on the sweeping roofline clearly visible in this new image, it appears that, as speculated earlier, the vehicle is indeed a coupe.

Lexus Concept confirmed for Detroit Auto Show
December 13, 2011

Offering only this tantalizing detail image for the moment, Lexus has confirmed that it will unveil a new concept vehicle at the Detroit show in January. Penned at its Calty design studio in Newport Beach, California, the car -- which appears to be a sport coupe of some sort -- "showcases the new design direction embraced by Lexus," a further refinement of the firm's "L-finesse" styling language first expressed in the new 2013 GS Series. The automaker is expected to release additional details on this promising one-off sometime next week, but for now, speculation continues as to what form it will take and where a production version might slot into the lineup.
