KBB announces Best Resale Value Awards for 2012
If you're smart, you'll make certain that your next vehicle has excellent resale value. So how do you find such a vehicle? Since 2003, Kelley Blue Book has been presenting its annual Best Resale Value Awards on the eve of the Los Angeles Auto Show. Created to recognize automakers' exceptional achievements in developing new vehicles that maintain the greatest percentage of their original value over a typical five-year ownership period, the BRVAs have become one of the most coveted awards in the industry. Based on comprehensive market data compiled and analyzed by the world's most experienced and trusted automotive pricing organization, they also can provide any new-car buyer with meaningful insights regarding one of the most critical long-term aspects of any purchase decision.
In addition to singling out winners in 19 separate categories from subcompacts to full-size pickups to electric vehicles, KBB also honors individual manufacturers whose entire lineups have proven worthy of receiving a Best Resale Value Award as the Best Brand and Best Luxury Brand. Finally, we present BRVAs to vehicles that earn a spot on our Overall Top 10 list, a diverse roster of players whose exemplary residual value ratings make them de facto leaders across the entire automotive spectrum.
This year, the Best Resale Value Awards for 2012 were presented to representatives from each winning manufacturer by Paul Johnson, president of Kelley Blue Book, in a ceremony that took place in Los Angeles. Among the vehicles singled out for their superior BRVA achievements were the Honda Civic in the Compact category, the Subaru Outback in the Wagon ranks and the Audi Q7 in the Luxury Utility arena.
