After gaining a reputation in the United States for inexpensive vehicles, Hyundai has embarked on a vigorous march to take its products upscale. Its most ambitious step in that direction is the Hyundai Genesis, a luxury sedan with the amenities of vehicles costing thousands of dollars more. An attractive design filled with luxury-car features, the new Genesis has the chops to compete against world-class sedans like the BMW 5 Series and the Mercedes-Benz E-Class, but at prices that are in Buick territory. In the accompanying video John Krafcik, Hyundai Motor America vice president of vehicle development gives us an in-depth look at the new car and the story behind its introduction.
