Geneva Auto Show Preview: Bertone Teases New Alfa Coupe Concept

As expected, the Italian design house, Bertone, will help Alfa Romeo celebrate its 100th birthday by revealing a new concept coupe at the Geneva Auto Salon in March. Although this highly stylized first glance at its front quarters is considerably less informative than the illustration of an Alfa Spider Concept released by Pininfarina, it reportedly does portend the kind of evocative design Alfa plans to incorporate into the replacement for its current generation 159 line. Beyond bold character lines, prominently flared fenders and distinctive LED headlamps that flank a new take on the automaker's classic grille treatment, we do know the Bertone-Alfa Concept has a cabin 2+2 configuration. It reportedly will get its motivation from the same 444-horsepower V8 originally used in Alfa's 8C Competizione model. Whatever proves true, this high-profile coupe appears set for star status when autodom's movers and shakers gather in Geneva.
