Ford Teases 2012 Focus Electric ahead of CES debut

Although offering no additional facts, Ford today released a teaser image of its first EV offering which will be formally revealed at 11:00 AM PST on Friday by CEO Alan Mulally at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas. Ford has previously announced that it will start producing the 2012 Focus Electric at its completely refurbished Michigan Assembly Plant starting later this year. The Focus Electric will have its motor energized by a 23kWh lithium-ion battery pack that is expected to give the car about a 100-mile per-charge range. Initially, the 2012 Ford Focus will be marketed in Atlanta (GA), Austin and Houston (TX), Boston (MA), Chicago (IL) , Denver (CO), Detroit MI), Los Angeles, San Francisco and San Diego (CA), New York (NY), Orlando (FL), Phoenix and Tucson (AZ), Portland (OR), Raleigh Durham NC), Richmond (VA), Seattle (WA) and Washington, D.C.
