The Ford Focus offers four different trim levels as well as several powertrains. As a sedan or hatchback, the latter also available with a full electric option, the Focus is fuel efficient and sports great performance. The Focus is smaller than many of its competitors, and is also among the pricier choices in the segment. The Ford Fiesta is offered as a stylish sedan or versatile hatch. It is fuel efficient and an affordable option in its segment with some nice new tech-savvy features. Performance in the ST trim boasts suspension and horsepower unrivaled by competitors.

Ford Focus Advantages

The MyFord Mobile App can monitor the charge of your Electric Focus and get you directions to the nearest charging station; larger than the Fiesta, which means more interior room and more storage space

Ford Fiesta Advantages

MyKey designed to help drive more responsibly by setting requirements or restrictions on certain features, standard Hill Start Assist, easier to park on crowded city streets

Similarities

Multiple trim levels and powertrain options to choose from, plenty of interior technology and styling, great fuel economy

Final Recommendation

The Fiesta lacks newer features and is overshadowed by not just its own segment but popular compact SUVs. It is less expensive, smaller and only marginally more fuel efficient than its sibling. The Ford Focus is a consistently strong seller in its class that offers a hatchback version like the Fiesta. It may be worth paying a bit more for a nicer ride.
