Ford CEO Touts Automaker's Commitment to Alternative Fuel Technology

Speaking before a packed room at the 2007 Los Angeles Auto Show, Ford president and CEO Alan Mulally frankly assessed the future of Ford, the environment and alternative fuel technology. Mulally pointed to Ford's blueprint for offering customers "affordable, environmentally friendly technologies in vehicles they really want." Ford's short tem plans include more efficient transmissions, better aerodynamics and lighter building materials. Over the long run, the company plans more flex-fuel, hybrid, clean diesel, plug-in and fuel cell technologies not for just a few thousand units, but for millions of cars.
