First Look: Next-generation Acura TL

Along with the single image you see here, Honda's premium division has released one very important detail about the all-new 2009 Acura TL: the availability of all-wheel drive. Even though it offers more performance than most buyers in the category will ever need, the front-wheel-drive TL has never enjoyed the same respect among enthusiasts as rear-wheel-drive competitors like the BMW 3 Series, Infiniti G or even the new-kid Lexus IS. With the addition of Acura's Super Handling All-Wheel Drive system, the TL promises to command a thorough re-evaluation by all. In a nutshell, the sophisticated system -- currently available on the Acura RL, MDX and RDX -- improves handling by speeding the outside rear wheel to help rotate or push the vehicle in the direction of the front wheels. The fourth-generation TL will also feature the most powerful Acura engine to date and even more in-cabin technology than today's tech-savvy TL, according to Acura. Look for it this fall.
