Cadillac Converj Concept: Plug-in Luxury

By Editors on January 30, 2009 10:46 AM
A high-profile one-off for now, the Cadillac Converj drew instant raves that may someday lead GM to green-light it for production. This edgy E-REV (Extended-Range Electric Vehicle) coupe takes Cadillac's established Art and Science design theme to new heights while embracing the dynamic potential of GM's Voltec electric propulsion system, a super-efficient package that will be used in the Chevrolet Volt. Visually, the Converj mixes bold angles and sweeping lines to make a powerful statement that's punctuated by strong vertical head and tail lamps and aggressive wheel/tire fitments with 21-inch aero-enhancing alloys up front and 22-inch rear rims. The Converj's driver-centric cabin features individual 2+2 seating trimmed out in synthetic suede, real leather, polished aluminum and wood-grain accents. Other premium touches include reconfigurable instrumentation with organic LEDs and touch-screen comfort and convenience.
