The renowned Italian automotive bold design house, Bertone, will be making a statement in Geneva next month intended to celebrate both its 100th Anniversary in business and the legacy of the man who started it all, Giuseppe "Nuccio" Bertone. While facts are few to say the least, we do know that the Bertone Nuccio Concept it plans to display there is a mid-engine "berlinetta" coupe with a super-low profile and muscular design character. The official line is that this heritage-intensive one-off reflects "an aesthetic phrasing with a strong emotional impact that will progress the brand identity into the future."

Over the years, the House of Bertone has been responsible for numerous memorable concept and production cars from the Alfa Romeo Giulietta SS, Fiat X1/9 and Lancia Stratos Zero Concept to the striking Lamborghini Muira and its even-more outrageous Countach cousin. We look forward to seeing how the Bertone Nuccio Concept extends that legacy and whether it ultimately will serve as the launching pad for a future production supercar.
