Audi R8 5.2 FSI quattro: V10 Takes it to 11

Let the bidding wars begin. The Audi R8 is getting a V10, but it's coming to America in very limited numbers and with a very long waiting list. Despite the economic uncertainty plaguing the rest of the automotive industry, our guess is that you'll have to come up with more than the $195,000 sticker price to acquire one. Powering the Audi R8 V10 is a normally aspirated 5.2-liter V10 engine that reportedly develops 525 horsepower and 390 lb.-ft. of torque. A six-speed manual or optional Sequential Shift R tronic automatic helps deliver that energy to all four wheels, moving the R8 from zero to 60 mph in a scant 3.9 seconds. The V10 version is differentiated from the V8-powered R8 with larger side air intakes, more aggressive side sills and unique ten-spoke Y-design 19-inch wheels. Also, in a production-car first, the R8 V10 uses LED lighting technology for the high/low beams, rear taillight and turn signals.
