America's Best-Selling 3-Row Luxury SUV Continues to Get Even Better

Combining ultra-refined driving dynamics, a strong reputation for reliability and high value relative to its pricier European competitors, the 3-row Acura MDX was named our very first Kelley Blue Book Luxury SUV Best Buy when the latest iteration debuted for the 2015 model year. For 2017, the MDX got even better, with a total grille makeover and other styling changes, plus a bevy of new tech and convenience features. The lineup also grows with the addition of a new hybrid version, which offers 35 more horsepower and better city fuel economy (26 mpg versus 20) than the non-hybrid MDX. The 2018 MDX has an updated infotainment system.

Driving It

"Powerful and agile, the 2018 Acura MDX is one of the more athletic 3-row SUVs out there. The Acura’s big V6 is more than strong enough for most buyers and its 9-speed automatic transmission is responsive and smooth. Acceleration is quick enough to be thrilling, and there’s plenty of passing power. This is a big vehicle, but it never feels like an oversized land yacht. Its handling is exceptional." Get more driving insight in our 2018 Acura MDX full review.

Super Handling All-Wheel Drive

The Acura MDX is one of the most fun-to-drive 3-row vehicles in existence, thanks in part to the available, recently updated Super Handling All-Wheel Drive system that improves cornering ability by sending more power to the rear outside wheel.
