2018 Ram Harvest Edition pickups salute the American farmer
Ram has announced an expansion of its 2018 pickup family to include new Harvest Edition models that set off a selection of cosmetic and functional upgrades with exterior trims that match Case IH and New Holland tractors and other agricultural equipment. “Farmers have been asking for these colors,” said Mike Manley, Head of Jeep & Ram Brands, FCA Global at the Farm Progress Show in Decatur, Illinois, “and Ram is proud to be the first in the industry to be able to offer them.”
A bounty of choices
The new Harvest Edition pickup will be available in Ram 1500, 2500 and 3500 variants as well as in Quad, Crew and Mega Cab configurations. Buyers can choose from all box lengths, 2WD/4WD and powertrains including Hemi V8s and the Cummins Turbo Diesel. Each Harvest Edition features a selection of added brightwork that includes a chrome “Wave Mesh” cross-hair grille, chrome mirrors/door handles, bright front/rear bumpers and chrome dual exhaust finishers on V8 1500 models.
The enhanced roster of Harvest Edition standards also brings black tubular side steps, a spray-in bedliner, skid plates, a fold-out bumper step and rubber floor mats. Ram 1500s come with a 1-inch higher ride height and aggressive on/off-road tires wrapped around 17-inch chrome wheels. Heavy Duty models include 18-inch polished aluminum rims and a cargo-view camera. All 1500s sport body-colored or Bright Silver wheel flares and upper fascia elements while 4WD versions at all levels come with tow hooks.
In addition to heated seats and rubber floor mats, Ram Harvest Edition models also feature a standard 8.4-inch Uconnect 4C touchscreen radio with navigation, 4G WiFi and support for Apple Car Play and Android Auto. Beyond their two signature colors, these distinctive Ram pickups will be available in Bright White and Brilliant Black as well as two-tone with Bright Silver contrast color.
The 2018 Ram Harvest Edition trucks go on sale in the third quarter. Pricing for a 1500 will start at $41,305, with the Heavy Duty side of the lineup opening at $47,630.
