2018 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport Updated for New York
Making its debut at the New York Auto Show, the 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport rolls onto the scene with a fresher appearance and a selection of new tech touches. Mitsubishi hopes this mid-cycle update will add more appeal its top-selling model.
Both the front and rear fascias on this subcompact crossover SUV receive subtle tweaks, with the most obvious being the presence of new LED running lights. Inside, the Outlander Sport’s redesigned console and shift lever impart a cleaner and more contemporary look while a new Smartphone Link display audio sound system with a 7.0-inch screen offers support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
The most notable new option for 2018 is a Touring Package that matches key driver-assist features like forward collision mitigation, lane departure warning and automatic high beams. The Outlander Sport also comes with a panoramic roof, rear-view camera and a host of NVH improvements that make for a smoother, quieter ride. No changes have been made to its 4-cylinder MIVEC engine choices, with a 2.0-liter version packing 148-horsepower and uplevel 2.4-liter engine marking 168 horsepower. The 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport lineup is set to arrive in dealer showrooms this fall. More details and full pricing will be released closer to the on-sale date.
