2018 Kia Sportage

Starting Price: $24,590 | Price Yours

Above Average: All-around value, connectivity and infotainment system

Below Average: Firm ride, odd-looking front end

Consensus: It has quickly proved itself as a segment favorite

The Kia Sorento is available in 2-row and 3-row configurations, able to seat five and seven passengers respectively. The three different engine options are all adequate on power and offer decent fuel economy. The Sorento uses all-wheel drive with Torque Vectoring Cornering Control designed to enhance traction and stability. The Kia Sportage may have a polarizing exterior look but its upscale interior is stylish with plenty of features. The SX model has a 240-horsepower turbocharged engine but the standard 2.4-liter 4-cylinder is nothing to complain about either. The Sportage offers good value and adds updates to a SUV that already comes with a long list of standard technology and safety features.

Kia Sorento Advantages

Seven trim levels to choose from, V6 engine, seating capacity for seven

Kia Sportage Advantages

Larger inside and out than previous generation Sportage, fuel efficiency

Similarities

Kia’s 5-year/60,000-mile bumper to bumper warranty and a 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty is the best in the segment, bundle of high-tech safety features

Final Recommendation

The Sportage blends unique styling, a list of upscale features and an excellent warranty in a 5-seater. If you need more space and a third row with many of the great features Kia has to offer, the Sorento is a better choice.
