2016 Subaru BRZ cuts price, adds Starlink infotainment

Rolling into showrooms later this fall, the sporty 2016 Subaru BRZ will see its sticker reduced by $300 across the board while gaining a new Starlink Multimedia System with a 6.2-inch single-touch gesture display. In addition to HD and SiriusXM Satellite Radio, the new AM/FM/CD Starlink setup includes Radio Data Broadcast System technology, Bluetooth hands-free phone connectivity/audio streaming, iPod control, iTunes Tagging, a USB port and an auxiliary input jack.

The new BRZ's Starlink upgrade also nets Smartphone integrations for Aha and Pandora plus numerous cloud apps like iHeartRadio, Stitcher, Calendar, Music Player, News and Weather. Last but not least, this rear-drive Subaru sport coupe adds a rearview camera to its expanded standards roster.

Pricing for the 2016 Subaru BRZ starts at $26,190 for a Premium model that backs its 200-horspower, naturally aspirated 2.0-liter flat-4 engine with a 6-speed manual transmission. Adding items like a dual-zone auto climate control system and All-Weather Package, the BRZ Limited opens at $28,190 when fitted with the 6-speed manual gearbox or $29,290 equipped with the optional 6-speed automatic.
