2016 Porsche Cayman Black Edition revealed

Following up on its recently announced 2016 Carrera 911 and Boxster Black Edition models, the automaker has revealed yet another noir-themed player: the 2016 Porsche Cayman Black Edition. This hard-shell counterpart to the Boxster shares the same extreme ebony exterior/interior motif and also boasts an upgraded roster of standards that opens with 20-inch Carrera Classic alloy wheels, Bi-Xenon headlamps with Porsche Dynamic Light System and front/rear Park Assist. Those seeking to add a bit more sparkle also can opt for Jet Black Metallic in place of the basic Black finish.

Inside, the new Cayman Black Edition also features the same step-up elements including partial leather trim, a SportDesign steering wheel, Porsche's Communication Management system with navigation, premium Sound Package Plus audio, heated seats, dual-zone climate control, Black Edition door sill plates, rain-sensing wipers and automatic anti-dazzle mirrors. 

Spun from the standard Cayman, the Black Edition packs the same mid-mounted 275-horsepower/2.7-liter flat-6 engine that can be paired with either the 6-speed manual gearbox or optional 7-speed PDK dual-clutch automatic. Arriving here in January, the 2016 Porsche Cayman Black Edition will open at $60,195 and command $63,395 for the autoshifted version. Like the Boxster Black Edition, it will offer a comprehensive array of upfits ranging from full-leather cabin appointments and a Burmester premium audio system, to Sport Suspension, Porsche Active Suspension Management and the Sport Exhaust System.
