To celebrate the periodic gathering of the Porsche racing community, the German automaker kicked off the fifth edition of these motorsports festivities at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca by unveiling the 2016 Porsche 911 Carrera Rennsport Reunion Edition. Based on a Carrera 911 GTS and hand-crafted by Porsche Exclusive, this special will be limited to a run of just 25 units, all of which will be sold here in North America. While retaining the standard 430-horsepower/3.8-liter naturally aspirated flat-six engine backed by a 6-speed manual, the Rennsport Reunion Edition boasts both cosmetic and functional upgrades. The car is finished in a unique Fashion Grey set off with black and red decals on the hood, roof, decklid and lower flanks as well as high-gloss black accents including the 20-inch Sport Classic alloy wheels. Rounding out the look are Black-finish LED headlights with Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus.

The cabin of the 911 Carrera GTS Rennsport Reunion Edition features a competition flair, starting with a distinctive Carbon Fiber dash and illuminated door-sill trim along with Carmine Red used on the tachometer, seat belts and stitching found on the SportDesign steering wheel, door panels, dash and floor mats. There's also a red GTS logo on the headrests of its 18-way sport seats. The lid on the center stow bin also carries an embossed "Rennsport Reunion V" logo. Finally, the key fob is painted Fashion Grey and stowed in the leather pouch with its own Carmine Red touches and "911 Carrera GTS Rennsport Reunion Edition" lettering. Other features include a Bose Audio Package, Porsche Active Suspension Management and Rear Park Assist.

On sale now, the 2016 Porsche 911 Carrera GTS Rennsport Reunion Edition officially stickers at $149,330. However, given its limited run, we suspect that number might prove more of a starting negotiation point than a hard figure.
