The 2016 Honda HR-V will make its North American debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show. For the moment, Honda is not offering much specific info on this cool 5-passenger mini-crossover than it did when photos of the HR-V first surfaced at the New York Auto Show last April. Slotting below the Honda CR-V, the new entry-level HR-V "is anticipated to launch this winter," according to Honda. Based on our latest information, expect it in showrooms sometime early next year as a 2016 model.

Like the all-new 2015 Honda Fit, the HR-V will be spun from the automaker's Global Compact Series architecture and roll off of an assembly line at Honda's newest assembly plant in Ceyala, Mexico. Slightly larger and even more spacious than the Fit, the HR-V also will feature Honda's foldaway Magic Seat that facilitates easy conversions among various different seating and cargo configurations. Honda promises full details on the 2016 HR-V's powertrain, trim lines, features -- and possibly even pricing - at its press conference Nov. 19.
