The 2016 BMW M6 Competition Edition introduced at Frankfurt was created to put an finer performance edge on the M6 Coupe. In addition to more power and enhanced dynamics, the limited-run Competition Edition also offers a host of design touches to set it apart from the regular M6. Global production of the BMW M6 Competition Edition will be limited to just 120 units, and 100 of those are set to land here in the U.S.

Building off the 2016 M6 Competition Package that's offered on the Convertible and Gran Coupe models, the M6 Coupe Competition Edition is fitted with an upgraded 600-horsepower 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 compared to 575-horses in the standard M6. In addition to bumping horsepower, the tweaks raise torque from 500 to 515 lb-ft, all of which is on hand from 1,500 to 6,000 rpm. Capable of sprinting from 0-60 mph in 3.8 seconds and reaching an electronically limited 156 mph, the new Competition Edition benefits from tauter chassis tuning that are part of the Competition Package.
