Kia has confirmed that an all-new 2015 Sedona will debut at the 2014 New York Auto Show. While facts are few at the moment, aspirations are high for this comprehensively recast people mover that Kia claims will have the chops to "challenge the segment." These teaser images show the redesigned Sedona will have a bolder presence than the current model that includes edgier sheetmetal, a racier profile, a more stylized take on the classic Kia grille/nose configuration devised by design chief Peter Schreyer and smarter LED-infused lighting elements.

Based on an all-new platform, power for the 2015 Kia Sedona will come from the same 3.3-liter gasoline direct-injected (GDI) V6 used in the Sorento. Beyond more evocative styling, Kia says the new Sorento also will offer "a host of innovative technology and safety features" which will include the next-generation UVO Infotainment & Telematics system that will introduce several new eServices features. With room for up to eight passengers and their cargo, Kia claims the 2015 Sedona also will possess enough capability to please those seeking a bit more adventure than merely transporting a gaggle of Little Leaguers to practice or stocking up on supplies at the local Costco.
