2015 Hyundai Azera: Freshened face and features
Unveiled at the Miami International Auto Show, the 2015 Hyundai Azera benefits from a modest exterior refresh as well as the addition of several new standard driver-assist features. Visual changes are found at both ends of this full-size 4-door, thanks to more aggressively drawn front and rear fascias along with a redrawn grille. The Azera Limited also sports new LED fog lamps and redesigned 18-inch alloy wheels as well as adding items from the 2014 Premium Package as standard equipment.
Cabin tweaks for the 2015 Azera include a redone center stack with an 8.0-inch color LCD display for the navigation system and illuminated door-sill plates along with a hands-free Smart Trunk opener. Across-the-board driver-assist upgrades bring Blind Spot Detection with Rear Cross Traffic alert and Lane Change Assist, a segment-first safety feature.
Next-gen Blue Link
The 2015 Azera introduces Hyundai's next-gen Blue Link telematics setup now includes the Vehicle Safeguard Alerts In-Vehicle App. Hyundai says it allows parents to help coach - and ultimately keep tabs on on -- their kids or anyone else behind the wheel by monitoring the Azera's speed, location, hours of operation and movements via text and/or e-mail messages. The system can be programmed and modified from inside the vehicle using a password and no longer requires the owner to log into the myhyundai.com website.
"We've listened to our Blue Link subscribers and given them exactly what they want," said Michael Deitz, senior group manager of Connected Care, Hyundai Motor America. "If being able to set these alerts on multiple devices makes parents lives easier, then we furthered our goal of making the ownership experience as easy as possible."
