A quick peek at the dealer order guide for the 2015 Chevrolet SS shows that the hot rear-drive sport sedan gains an enthusiast-oriented 6-speed manual transmission that will be available alongside the still-standard 6-speed paddle-activated automatic. Opting for this do-it-yourself cog-changer also will bring a more aggressive 3.70:1 rear-axle ratio in place of the base 3.27:1 differential. That combo should put even more snap in the already exhilarating acceleration served up by the car's 415-horsepower/6.2-liter naturally aspirated V8 engine.

The other key upgrade for the 2015 Chevy SS is the standard fitment of GM's superb Magnetic Selective Ride Control suspension. Also offered on several Chevrolet Camaro and Corvette models as well as certain Cadillac vehicles, this real-time magneto-rheological damping system allows the driver to instantly adjust the overall feel of the suspension while still delivering excellent ride quality in any setting. Other changes in store for the 2015 Chevy SS include five new exterior colors -- Regal Peacock Green, Some Like It Hot Red, Jungle Green Metallic, Perfect Blue and Alchemy Purple - plus the addition of OnStar with 4G LTE service that's currently being rolled out across the entire GM divisional lineup.
