2015 Chevrolet Silverado Midnight Special Edition bows
Set for its public debut at the Chicago Auto Show, the 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Midnight Special Edition melds a sinister color scheme with a host of factory-installed custom appearance and functional bits. Similar to the recently revealed Silverado 1500 Custom Sport variant, the distinctive Midnight package will be available on Silverado 1500 double-cab and crew-cab models, although all Midnight Special Editions will be finished in basic black and based on a Silverado Z71 trim grade that includes off-road suspension, a locking rear differential, Hill Descent Control and a trailering package.
To set the appropriately monochromatic tone, the Silverado Midnight Special Edition features a body-colored grille, bumper, headlamp bezels, tow hooks and fog lamps as well as black side and beltline moldings plus a black spray-in bedliner. Wrapped in Goodyear Wrangler Duratec all-terrain tires, the Midnight Special Edition's 18-inch alloys carry the same color theme. Even the Chevy bowtie badges go back to black. Functional enhancements to the Midnight Special Edition Silverados include rear park assist and heated, power-adjustable outside rearview mirrors.
Dealers will begin taking orders for the 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Midnight Special Edition trucks starting in February, and Chevy says it will hold production to a maximum of 5,000 total units. Pricing for the Midnight package will be model dependent and run from $1,595 to $1,995.
