It's now been confirmed that the 2013 Morgan 3 Wheeler will be coming to America. The first of these neo-retro fun-runners is expected to reach showrooms here by August and have a starting price in the $42,000-$45,000 range for a base model. Charles Morgan, company CEO, plans to kick off the pre-rollout effort by driving one of the new 3 Wheelers in the 2012 Gumball Rally 3000 a New York-to-Los Angeles on-road run that will take place next month.

Nothing has changed on the mechanical front since the car's formal debut in production form at the 2011 Geneva Auto Show. It will be powered by a 115-horsepower/2.0-liter front-mounted S&S Cycle V-twin engine that drives the car's single rear wheel via a Mazda 5-speed manual transmission. With its ultralight 1,100+ pound curb weight, the 3 Wheeler is expected to spring from 0-60 mph in less than 5.0 seconds.
