2012 BMW 1 Series M Coupe: Take II teaser

Moving one baby step closer to full disclosure on what promises to be a most exciting new addition to its lineup, BMW used the recent Oktoberfest gathering at Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin, to show at least a bit more of a car we're led to believe will likely make its formal debut at the Detroit Auto Show in January. In addition to this mini-strip/largely-tease reveal, BMW also released a second video (shown below) of the 1 Series M Coupe which is scheduled to go on sale here sometime in the second quarter of 2011.

As indicated in our earlier news story, this hot hauler is expected to use a version of BMW's 3.0-liter twin-turbo inline six tuned to make about 335-3250 horses matched with a six-speed manual transmission. A full M-style suspension/brake/wheel/tire workover and appropriate M-spec interior tweaks will also be included in the 2012 BMW 1 Series M Coupe package, which is likely to start around $45,000.
