Making its global debut at this week's Australian International Motor Show, the 2011 Lexus CT 200h F Sport will go on sale as a production model "down under" during the first half of next year. While it's not officially slated to join the U.S. lineup, Lexus has confirmed that virtually all of the meaningful cosmetic and mechanical elements found on this latest addition to the F Sport portfolio also will be available in America shortly after the standard 2011 Lexus CT 200h hits showrooms here in the spring.

Visually, the Australian 2011 Lexus CT 200h F Sport gets a tasteful body kit with more aggressive front/rear fascia treatments, side skirts, black mesh grille insert, roof spoiler, custom gunmetal-finish alloy wheels, privacy glass and a unique Flame Blue exterior color. While the privacy glass won't make the cut here for legal reasons and the exact look of the U.S-spec F Sport body bits and availability of Flame Blue paint are still under discussion, quite a bit of what you see here is what we'll get. Inside, the same sport steering wheel, aluminum pedal set, door sill plates and minor cabin trim bits found on the Aussie 2011 Lexus CT 200h F Sport are virtually certain to be on offer here, as well.

Functionally, the 2011 Lexus CT 200h F Sport retains the standard-issue hybrid powertrain setup that makes 134 combined horses and drives the front wheels though a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT). However, it does boast a comprehensive suspension retune to go along with its more aggressive character that includes the special Lexus-developed front and rear lateral dampers that help increase torsional rigidity and minimize vibrations without impacting overall ride comfort. As with the standard2011 Lexus CT 200h, no pricing specifics have been revealed at this point.
