2011 Infiniti G25 -- First look

Hoping to broaden the appeal of its G Sedan lineup, Infiniti has announced it will add a new and even-more-affordable member to the family: the 2011 Infiniti G25. Arriving at dealers in September, this budget-friendly variation on the theme will be fitted with a 2.5-liter V6 but still offer a serious load of upline standards. However, with a $31,825 starting price, including destination, the new G25 line is slated to open nearly $2,500 below even its least-costly G37 kin.

Visually identical to the G37, the 2011 Infiniti G25 will have 218 horses in its underhood corral and 187 lb-ft of torque, compared to the G37's 328/269 figures. The mix will consist of three models -- G25 Sedan, G25 Sedan Journey and G25x Sedan AWD -- and each will come with a seven-speed automatic transmission. While not quite as posh as the G37, the new G25 does offer standards that include leather upholstery, Shodo aluminum interior trim, power front seats, auto climate control, a premium audio system with available XM Satellite Radio, xenon HID headlamps, and more. Stepping up to Journey level adds items like dual-zone auto climate control, heated seats/mirrors, and the RearView Monitor system.
