2011 Dodge Grand Caravan R/T - 2011 Chicago Auto Show (w/video)

Can any minivan really appeal to male ex-sport sedan owners who now find themselves in a lifestage that demands something more overtly practical? Dodge is hoping that at least one can. The new 2011 Dodge Grand Caravan R/T -- internally dubbed the "Man Van" will attempt to make its case starting this spring. Like all other 2011 Grand Caravans, the new R/T gets its motivation from the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 that makes 283 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque which gets sent to the front wheels via a six-speed automatic transmission. Outside, the new Grand Caravan R/T features a unique body-color grille surround and side moldings as well as "R/T" badges and exclusive 17-inch alloy wheels that complement its sport-tuned suspension. Inside, the special Man Van enhancements include a black-only leather interior with red contrast stitching, leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob and a 506-watt/10-speaker premium audio system. How successful this grand ex-experiment turns out to be remains to be seen, but we do know that pricing for the new 2011 Dodge Grand R/T will start at $31,448.
