2010 Jaguar XKR: Sleek Cat, More Ponies

By Editors on January 12, 2009 12:29 PM
For 2010, Jaguar has updated the XK Coupe and Convertible lineup with new front end styling, new LED tail lights, a new lower rear body spoiler and new 19-inch wheels. Inside, both the XK Portfolio and XKR gain the disappearing transmission selector knob introduced on the XF sedan. The big news, though, is horsepower. The XKR ditches its current supercharged 4.2-liter V8 in favor of a supercharged 5.0-liter unit, resulting in a big bump in horsepower from 420 to 510 hp. The XK Portfolio makes the same move, minus the supercharger, jumping from 300 to 385 hp. Jaguar claims zero-to-60-mph times of 4.6 and 5.2 seconds, respectively, for the XKR and XK Portfolio. No pricing as of yet, but expect the revised XK line to hit showroom floors by the middle of this year.
