While resolutely circumspect about what specific new product this intriguing exercise in Teutonic "teasing" sculpture was meant to portend, the folks at Mercedes-Benz did indicate that it was a stylistically and strategically cloaked interpretation of a vehicle it plans to introduce later this year. This striking 3D pre-incarnation of the automaker's rakish "four-door coupe" embodies more sensuous and free-flowing cues that reportedly will become a prominent part of M-B's future visual language. Mercedes design boss, Gordon Wagener, has indicated that the company intends to cultivate a more artistic approach to its future efforts in an attempt to develop an even more compelling signature look. While we suspect the production CLS may be a bit less "expressive," even this not-so-revealing preview bodes well for what's to come.
