2010 Detroit Auto Show: Chrysler Lancia Delta

Another rebel without a probable cause on the Chrysler stand was this Lancia Delta, differentiated from its Euro kin solely by a Chrysler grille and badges. Intended to show how the two divisions might be able to creatively share platforms in a way that could enhance overall production synergies, the mid-size five-door will also serve to assess potential buyer interest in a package of this type. Historically, U.S. consumers have been decidedly disinterested in larger-scaled hatchbacks. Whether this particular exercise in automotive group think ever progresses beyond its current one-off stage remains an open question.
