2009 Toyota Matrix and Pontiac Vibe: Toyota and GM Renew Their Vows

The newly redesigned, second-generation Toyota Matrix and Pontiac Vibe will continue to share the same platform, differentiated primarily by their sheetmetal. Each will offer three models and identical powertrain options comprising 132- and 158-horsepower Toyota four-cylinder engines, delivering between 21 miles per gallon in the city and 32 mpg on the highway, depending on powertrain. Equipment highlights include available all-wheel drive and a navigation system with real-time traffic information. Expect both in February 2008 with starting prices in the mid to high teens.
