The newest box-mobile isn't due to hit dealerships until May, but Nissan's already freshening the lineup. The cube 1.8 Krom will serve as the range-topper in the cube lineup and is distinguished by a three-bar chrome grille, a two-bar chrome grille on the front bumper, side skirts, a rear spoiler and 16-inch alloy wheels. As the cube flagship, the Krom will boast an extended standard equipment list to include a leather steering wheel, auto climate control, an iPod interface and Bluetooth connectivity. Of the more than 40 individual accessories
Nissan says it will offer for the cube lineup, we're most excited to get our hands (and feet?) on the "shag carpeting" instrument panel inserts. The entire cube lineup - cube 1.8, cube 1.8 S, cube 1.8 SL and cube 1.8 Krom - will be powered by a 122-horsepower four-cylinder engine matched with a continuously variable transmission and good for a Nissan-estimated 30 miles per gallon. The cubes arrive this spring with a starting price of $13,990.
