Although still somewhat tight-lipped about various specifics, Mazda has released this teaser photo of the revamped 2010 CX-9 that it plans to introduce at the New York Auto Show next month. What is certain is that the stylish seven-passenger three-row crossover will get an exterior freshening that puts a larger MAZDA3-style "smile" on its reshaped soft front fascia as well as revamped headlamps, mirrors and alloy wheels plus tidier trim details. The CX-9's well-appointed interior will also benefit from a number of subtle-but-meaningful upgrading, although we'll just have to wait to find out exactly what's changing. In addition to rumored improvements to its already impressive handling prowess, Mazda says the 2010 version of its front-drive/all-wheel drive hauler will offer enhanced safety features and an even longer list of options. No mention was made regarding any changes to the CX-9's existing 3.7-liter/273-hp V6 engine. The 2010 CX-9 will share the spotlight in New York with two other new Mazda offerings: the 2010 CX-7 crossover which formally debuted last month at the Canadian Auto Show and the 2010 MAZDASPEED3, which was first seen earlier this month in Geneva.
