2009 Mercedes-Benz SL: Old Purebred, New Tricks

After six model years in the same skin, the Mercedes-Benz SL gets a facelift for 2009. New front-end styling is the most easily identifiable alteration, but the procedure involved changes front to back. Interior work includes a restyled instrument cluster, enhanced infotainment capabilities and the addition of the automaker's neck-level AIRSCARF heating system. The lineup continues to comprise the SL550, SL600 and the AMG-enhanced SL65, while the SL55 is replaced by the more powerful SL63. The 2009 SL arrives Spring 2008 at starting prices between about $100,000 and $200,000.
