2008 Jaguar XF: British Automaker Getting Back Into Shape

By Editors on January 29, 2008 12:55 PM
The sharp, sporty Jaguar XF is on its way to relieve the soft, tired S-Type and recapture for Jaguar some of its long-lost performance heritage. Offering a 4.2-liter V8 good for 300 horsepower and a 420-horsepower, supercharged version of the same engine, Jaguar claims zero-to-60 mph times of 6.2 and 5.1 seconds, respectively. Interior highlights include a unique rotating transmission selector that sinks flush with the center console, touch-sensing dome lights and glove box and a start button that pulses red, mimicking a heartbeat. Expect the XF in Spring 2008 priced somewhere near $50,000.
