We recently spent some time behind the
Audi R8's flat-bottom steering wheel on a Southern California road course and came away further impressed by how confidently we were able to explore its considerable performance potential. Its mid-engine balance and forgiving all-wheel drive system make it easy to enjoy all 420 horsepower available from the car's sonorous V8. The fact that the R8 is also an accommodating daily driver is mere icing on the cake. Our only complaints so far stem from a gated shifter that requires careful attention to navigate properly and the fact that we don't have $109,000 to buy an R8 of our own.
