Alfa Romeo is releasing limited-edition versions of its Giulia Quadrifoglio sports sedan and Stelvio Quadrifoglio crossover. The NRING special edition comprises a bundle of optional equipment set off with special design elements, but it does not include any performance enhancements beyond what comes standard on the Quadrifoglio, which in the case of the Giulia and the Stelvio represents the sportiest variant in the lineup.

Both models are powered by a twin-turbocharged 2.9-liter V6 making 505 horsepower and 443 lb-ft of torque paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters. Alfa claims a top speed of 191 mph and a 0-to-60-mph time of 3.8 seconds for the Giulia Quadrifoglio, while the Stelvio Quadrifoglio rips to 60 mph in 3.8 seconds, topping out at 176 mph.

Nürburgring-inspired

NRING unsurprisingly stands for the Nürburgring, the storied German racetrack that is today a prized testing ground for modern high-performance vehicles. Lap times over the 12.9-mile Nordschleife circuit have become a much-touted performance benchmark. For its part, Alfa Romeo advertises a 7:32.0 time for the Giulia Quadrifoglio, which the company claims is the fastest for a 5-passenger vehicle. Meanwhile, the Stelvio Quadrifoglio’s time of 7:51.7 is said to be the best among SUVs sold in the United States.

Both NRING special editions feature Circuito Gray matte-finish paint, a carbon-fiber center grille and mirror caps, red brake calipers, and dark-finish 5-hole wheels (19-inch for the Giulia and 20s for the Stelvio). The Giulia further gets an exposed carbon-fiber roof, while the Stelvio includes a dual-pane sunroof and carbon-fiber roof rails. Both can be optioned with Brembo carbon-ceramic brakes with 6-piston front and 4-piston rear calipers.

Special interior

A two-tone black and red leather interior features red contrast stitching, a carbon-fiber steering wheel and shift bezel, and (in the Giulia) illuminated door sill plates. Sparco carbon-frame racing seats are optional.

Alfa also throws in the convenience package, the driver assistance dynamic package, and a premium alarm system. The total ask is $91,485 for the Giulia NRING, while the tab for the Stelvio NRING is $97,485 (both prices with destination). Alfa is limiting the package to just 110 units spread across both models, with these rare Alfas due to reach dealerships in early summer.
