New color schemes and additional standard equipment are part of the upgrades offered on the 2020 Lincoln Navigator, which will go on sale this November. Among the new tech added to the full-size luxury SUV is a Phone-as-Key feature as well as a complete suite of driver assists.
The Monochromatic Package, which will be offered in Pristine White, Ceramic Pearl and Infinite Black, matches exterior and interior hues while minimizing the use of contrasting accent colors. According to trend forecaster WGSN, the single-color approach on different materials gives more emphasis to the vehicle’s shape than with the use of multiple shades.
“The monochromatic palette emphasizes the strong lines of the Navigator,” says Earl Lucas, Lincoln chief designer. “It’s the perfect color scheme for a full-size luxury SUV and it offers clients another way to personalize their new Navigator.” The package will be offered on Reserve trim level models.
The Phone-as-Key feature, which first appeared on the 2020 Lincoln Aviator, allows the owner to remotely lock and unlock the vehicle, open the liftgate and start and drive the Navigator without a traditional key fob. This new standard feature is activated through smart phone technology using the Lincoln Way app.
Other new 2020 features include additional standard equipment including power running boards, heated/ventilated front seats and a wireless charging pad. On the safety front, the Navigator boasts the Lincoln Co-Pilot 360 suite of assists that include auto high-beam headlights, blind spot detection with cross-traffic alert and trailer coverage, lane-keeping alert and assist and driver alert. Also included are pre-collision assist with automatic emergency braking, dynamic brake assist, pedestrian detection, forward collision warning and a rear view camera with washer.
