• Evo features power soft top
  • Boasts 640 horsepower from V10
  • Accelerates to 62 mph in 3.1 seconds
  • Priced at $287,400

Lamborghini has added another model to the higher performance Evo line of the V10 Huracán, this time an open air Spyder. Powered by a 5.2-liter engine, the 2019 Lamborghini Huracán Evo Spyder boasts 640 horsepower and 443 lb-ft of torque enabling it to sprint to 62 mph in 3.1 seconds on its way to a top speed of 202 mph.

The all-wheel drive Huracán features torque vectoring at all four corners as well as rear wheel steering to provide ultimate handling. The newest Lamborghini also uses magneto rheological shocks in the suspension which enables the Spyder’s nimbleness without compromising ride quality.

Aerodynamic styling

The 2019 Huracán Evo Spyder shares its aerodynamics-influenced exterior styling cues with the Evo Coupe variant. A new front bumper contributes to the aggressive face of the Spyder, which also is equipped with a front splitter and larger intakes. The rear styling is inspired by naked racing motorcycles with the twin exhaust outlets positioned high in the rear bumper and an integrated, slotted rear spoiler enhances airflow.

The attention paid to the aero kit gives the Evo Spyder five times the downforce and efficiency of the original Huracán Spyder. Further tweaking of the airstream also ensures that the cabin is calm and quiet even with the top down.

Spyder profile

Thanks to the power top, which can be raised and lowered in 17 seconds at speeds up to 31 mph, the Evo Spyder has a sleeker profile. The top stows neatly behind the seats and has a standalone power rear window that can be opened or closed whether the top is up or down. When the top is down and the window up, it acts as a wind blocker. Also aiding airflow are twin fins that deploy when the top is down that also adds to the car’s slick look.

Inside the cabin, the upholstery is leather and Alcantara with stitching color keyed to the exterior. The center console is fitted with a new 8.4-inch screen for the infotainment system, which also includes Apple CarPlay integration.

The 2019 Lamborghini Huracán Evo Spyder will go on sale this spring in the U.S. with a retail price of $247,400.
