To celebrate its first century while looking ahead to the future, BMW announced a 100-unit run of its flagship sedan of which just five will be heading to America. While its official moniker of “BMW Individual 7 Series The Next 100 Years,” doesn’t exactly trip off the tongue, The U.S. septet will go by an even more verbose nameplate as the “BMW Individual M760i xDrive Model V12 Excellence The Next 100 Years.”

Nomenclature aside, this elite variation on BMW’s range-topping 7 Series is set to arrive here late this year with decidedly distinctive touches courtesy of the automaker’s custom Individual operation. Finished in exclusive Centennial Blue Metallic, the car rides on 20-inch BMW Individual forged light-alloy wheels rendered in a Silver and Ferric Grey combo as well as a handcrafted “The Next 100 Years” signet on its B-pillars.  Inside, this commemorative edition also is awash in Smoke White Full Merino Leather that covers nearly everything and is set off with hand-woven contrast piping, Piano Black and fine wood accents and Smoke White Alcantara for the headliner, floor coverings and custom mats. While the dash carries its own 100 Years signet logo, the center console is inscribed with the car’s build number.

And a Montblanc pen, too

The finishing flourish on the BMW Individual M760i xDrive Model V12 Excellence The Next 100 Years is an equally rare and unique “Montblanc for BMW” Centennial Fountain Pen that will be given to each buyer. Also being produced in a run of 100, the color and various elements of the Skeleton pen mimic design cues found in the vehicle.

Mechanically, the 100 Years 7 Series comes with all of the best BMW technology found in the soon-to-launch 2017 BMW M760i xDrive model starting with 610-horse/6.6-liter M performance TwinPower Twin-Turbo V12 engine, 8-speed automatic transmission and the automaker’s xDrive all-wheel drive package, a combination that will let it streak from 0-60 mph in 3.6 seconds. The car also features full air suspension with Dynamic Damper Control and a full array of driver assist/safety technologies. Like the baseline 2017 M760i xDrive there’s still no word yet on what it will cost to park a BMW Individual M760i xDrive Model V12 Excellence The Next 100 Years in your garage.
