Following last week's pricing announcement for the 2015 Toyota TRD Pro Series 4Runner and Tacoma models, the automaker has confirmed that its 2015 Tundra TRD Pro Series pickup has been entered in the Full Size Stock division at this year's Tecate SCORE Baja 1000 off-road race November 12-16. The new TRD Pro Series Tundra is the most aggressively packaged member of this down-and-dirty trio and boasts high-performance Bilstein reservoir-style shocks, custom springs, a 2.0-inch front lift kit and dual exhausts plus 18-inch black-finish alloys wrapped in Michelin ORP tires.

"Competing in the Full Size Stock class allows our team to test the Tundra TRD Pro as close to stock as possible and showcase its strength and durability in the Mexican desert's treacherous terrain," said Andrew Franceschini, Toyota truck marketing and communications national manager. The TRD Pro team is being coached by Toyota legend and 22-time Baja 500/1000 champ Ivan "Ironman" Stewart. Four accomplished desert drivers -- Ted Moncure, Andy Bell, Jamie Bestwick and Ryan Millen - will share time behind the wheel with Mike Sweers, Chief Engineer of Toyota Trucks, serving as navigator.

"My job is to ensure that the Tundra exceeds the expectations and demands of every single one of its owners," noted Sweers. "With over 1,000 miles of harsh terrain, the Baja 1000 is the ultimate proving grounds for research and development that helps us to continuously improve our trucks."
