Previewed at the recent Frankfurt Auto Show, the 2014 Jeep Wrangler Polar Edition will be rolling into U.S. showrooms starting next month. Latest in a long line of limited-run Jeep products, the Polar Edition draws its inspiration from severe climate and conditions in the Antarctic and matches several "cool" cosmetic touches with focused functional upgrades that make it even better suited to wandering through a variety of winter wonderlands.

Based on a Jeep Wrangler Sahara model, the new Polar Edition will be available in both 2-door and 4-door models. In addition to an all-new Hydro Blue exterior color, the Polar Edition model can be had in Billet Silver Metallic and Bright White. Key visual tweaks include a unique grille, Powerdome hood, body-color hardtop with deep-tint sunscreen glass, 18-inch Gloss Black/brushed finish alloy wheels and a black Mopar fuel-filler door. In addition to a subtle tri-tone mountain hood graphic the Polar Edition's fender badges feature map coordinates of Vostok in Antarctica, where the lowest temperature on earth - a brisk -128.56 degrees Fahrenheit -- was recorded.

Inside, the Jeep Wrangler Polar Edition features heated seats wrapped in Black leather with Pearl White accent stitching and "Polar" embroidered logos. The black leather-wrapped steering wheel, armrests and center console lid also boast Pearl White stitching while the bezel around the unique "Polar" instrument cluster, the passenger-side dashboard grab bar and all vent surrounds are done in high-gloss Ceramic White. Mopar tread-pattern slush mats round out the cabin remake.

All versions come with the Wrangler Rubicon-spec Command-Trac NV241 part-time dual-range transfer case as well a Trac-Lok anti-spin rear differential. Hard-core explorer-types also can fit their vehicles with the Rubicon's electronic locking differential.

The 2014 Jeep Wrangler Polar Edition starts at $33,490 for a 2-door model with the 4-door Polar Edition opening at $37,190.
