2009 Dodge Ram Heavy Duty: Back to Work

By KBB.com Editors on January 12, 2009 11:01 AM
Amidst the buzz surrounding Chrysler LLC's strong electric vehicle lineup, Dodge managed to cover the other end of the environmental spectrum by showing off the 2009 Dodge Ram Heavy Duty. That's not to say that this monstrosity is a gas-sucking tree killer. In fact, the new Ram Heavy Duty has a 6.7-liter Cummins turbo diesel engine with a particulate filter that reduces nitrogen oxide emissions by about 90 percent, meaning this big truck meets 2010 emissions standards. The diesel engine is standard on 3500 models and available on the 2500, which includes a gas-powered 5.7-liter V8 as standard equipment. Other niceties include an optional Infinity sound system, uConnect navigation system and a power-sliding rear window. Pricing and on-sale dates have yet to be announced.
