First Look: Lamborghini Estoque Sedan Concept

By Editors on October 13, 2008 2:15 PM
In a gracious effort to fill a void left by slumping SUV sales, Lamborghini has fashioned a vehicle it calls the perfect traveling companion for "a weekend away with the kids." To its credit, the Italian automaker has fitted its first-ever sedan concept with a rear-seat entertainment system to distract the kids from the harrowing sight of scenery zipping by at 200 miles per hour. Top speed would of course be dependent on the engine, with Lamborghini identifying V10, V8, hybrid and diesel powerplants as possibilities. The Estoque would be unique in the Lambo lineup not just for its four doors, but also for its mid-front engine placement. All-wheel drive is a familiar part of the equation, though. As long as a Chevy Tahoe and squatter than a MINI Cooper, the Estoque appears to prowl in place on its 22- and 23-inch wheels. The success of the forthcoming Porsche Panamera and Aston Martin Rapide four-doors will surely factor into the production fate of any four-door Lamborghini.
