"We've owned two 1996 Fleetwoods for 13 years, since they were new. They're the best automobiles we've ever owned, and we've had 6 Cadillacs and 2 Lincoln Towncars. Comfortable - will easily transport 6 adults, plush leather seating, great amenities. Reliable - have never left us stranded. Fast - the Corvette LT1 350 engine and drive train are wonderful. Though we never do this, the car will reach 60 mph in 8 seconds - pretty good for a 4,500 lb. car. Great gas mileage - routinely 16 to 18 mpg in town, 24 to 25 mpg on the road. On our most recent road trip we drove just under the posted speed limits, and got 28.3 mpg - with 3 adults and a trunk full of luggage. Attractive - no rust on either vehicle so far and we live in the rust belt. Elegant styling - we get frequent unsolicited purchase offers for them. Huge trunk - multiple golf bags or luggage for 6 people. Very quiet interior - comfortable seating positions, great sound system. Repair - oil changes every 2K miles and whatever is needed, plus a few minor expected items. One has 55K miles, the other 83K miles. Replacement parts may become an issue, but not so far. Driveability - precise, intuitive handling, great in ice and snow, a dream to drive.
Don't need new cars now, but would definitely buy another. Unfortunately, nothing like the 1996 Cadillac Fleetwood is manufactured today."
"96 was the last year of these living rooms on wheels. Purchased mine 3 years ago with 86K miles, now has 153K plus and the the LT1 shows no signs of quitting. Had to fix the usual things associated with a car this age and mileage but nothing major. Gets over 20mpg on the hwy, which is awesome considering it's powerful performance. if you can get your hands on a low/mid mileage 96 fleetwood, you can rest assured you'll get your moneys worth out of this car."
"Take your living room sofa on the road. Always a pleasure to drive this car. My 93 has the TBI Chevy 350 in it. Plenty of power. 14MPG City, 24 MPG Highway. Bought it with 80,000 miles on it. A 15 Year old car and the AC still works flawlessly!
Leather is cracked and worn. Cracked dash. OEM dash no longer available. Bought a used one at a wrecking yard. Easy install. Only rust on the car is behind the bumpers. Took them off and painted the backs with special rust paint. Body parts, bits and pieces no longer made but can all be found at wrecking yards. Backup lights are fragile and are known to crack around the screws that hold them on. Can still find OEM backup lights at wrecking yards specializing in Cadillacs. Love this car!"
Cons: "You can't go wrong with this car. It's a Cadillac!"

"Purchased in 2000 from a lady whose husband was ill. She didn't drive it much and it only had 55,000 miles on it. Well, that was 12 years ago! And I'm still driving it. :)
I'll say this must be the last of the 'real' Cadillacs - it's big, drives smooth and is very quiet on the road."
"This was my first Cadillac and I have driven it for 11 years. I'm sold on Cadillacs and have just bought my 2nd one. The Fleetwood is an incredibly smooth ride and offers comfort for both driver and passengers. I have had virtually no problems with the car. It has been a great vehicle!"
