About Buick Rendezvous

The Rendezvous is Buick's crossover SUV, but in truth it's more minivan than rugged off-road vehicle. Although the Rendezvous' unusual exterior design is intended to conceal its minivan origins, it's hard not to notice the low step-in height and tall roof. These same exterior dimensions, however, make for a truly spacious interior, including a usable third-row seat capable of comfortably accommodating two adults. The Rendezvous line has been paired down to just two trim levels this year, prompting the loss of the all-wheel-drive model and the larger 3.6-liter V6 engine. Still, the front-wheel-drive layout performs well in snow and the Rendezvous' long list of appealing features and quasi-SUV image make a good choice for parents seeking to avoid the stigma associated with driving a minivan.

"I love how roomy and affordable my rendezvous is. The only thing I would change about it is the color of the interior. My interior is a very light tan color and EVERYTHING stains it. My water bottle leaked on the passenger seat one day resulting in a HUGE stain...ugh! Defiantly not a good interior with having children either :(...if it weren't for that I would keep my car forever but it is quickly looking abused..lol"

Pros: "comfort, cargo space, mileage, handling"

Cons: "blind spots due to style"

"I bought my Rendezvous new, and it has been a really good car! I chose it largely because it seats six and is very spacious (big enough for the kids and the Laborador), and it gets good gas mileage. Those combined features were rare in 2002. Even after nine years, I still average 24 MPG, mostly highway -- I drive 50 miles round trip to work. It has FWD, and the traction control helps on snowy and wet roads. It's very comfortable, rides smooth, handles well and has lasted well. Before the Rendezvous, I had never kept a car longer than four years. I briefly had trouble with a gas tank sensor, but that was easily solved by turning the cap several times after filling up. I'm sorry they quit making this model, but I can see myself driving an Enclave in the future."

"have had this 2003 for 4 years. Got it from an elderly woman in almost perfect condition, and barely used. Great design, great features, great ideas, but NOT great hold up. Lots of problems, one after another. Come to find out most of the problems are consistently common with this vehicle (Bearings, valves, etc, etc, etc, etc.. ) always waiting to see what will happen next. Keep your pocket book handy~"
